FAQ

Questions we are asked.

How we work, what we charge, and what to expect — for buyers negotiating contracts and for firms bidding in tenders.

What does a procurement consultant do?
A procurement consultant helps a business buy better: reviewing supplier contracts, running competitive tenders, and negotiating price and terms with vendors. Pactis Partners focuses on the negotiation itself — preparing the position and leading or shadowing every round through to a signed agreement.
How much can contract renegotiation save?
It depends on the contract and your leverage. Across our engagements to date we have delivered over £1m of verified savings on around £10m of negotiated spend. We will tell you honestly, before any fee, whether a contract is worth negotiating.
What is the free Renewal Teardown?
Send us one supplier contract. Within 48 hours you receive a one-page findings note: what the agreement is really costing, where the traps sit — auto-renewal windows, indexation, termination terms — and what a negotiation would plausibly be worth. No fee, no obligation.
What is tender advisory?
Tender advisory is independent support for a business bidding for a contract. We read your submission the way the buyer's evaluation panel will — against the published criteria and weightings — and show you where marks are being lost and how to recover them before you submit.
How are tenders scored?
Most formal tenders score each quality question against a published scale (commonly 0–5 or 0–10), weight each question, and combine the quality score with a price score. Evaluators must be able to justify every mark against the criteria, so they score the evidence they can find where the question tells them to look — not the capability you did not put on the page.
What is an assessment summary?
Under the Procurement Act 2023, which applies to contracts procured from 24 February 2025, public buyers provide assessment summaries to suppliers explaining how their tender was assessed against the award criteria, including against the winning bid. It is the most useful feedback a bid team will receive — and it is often filed unread.
What is the free Lost-Bid Debrief?
Send us the assessment summary or feedback from a tender you lost. Within 48 hours we send back a one-page read of where the marks went and what the panel was really rewarding. No fee and no obligation.
Who is behind Pactis Partners?
Pactis Partners Limited is a UK company (no. 16764215) run by a commercial and procurement leader who has managed more than £60m of annual category spend on the buy side.
Do you take commission from suppliers?
No. We act on one side of the table only, never against a current client, and take nothing from suppliers — our only interest in any negotiation is our client's.
How do you charge?
Fixed fees, agreed before we start — no open-ended day rates. Where it aligns interests, part of our fee can be put at risk against verified savings.
Where are you based?
London. We work with clients across the UK and internationally, with particular capacity in New York, remotely or on site.

Facing a renewal, a tender, or a vendor you can't move?

Tell us about it. We reply within one business day with an honest view on whether — and how much — we can move it.
